Frequently asked questions
Do stacked discounts add up?
No. 30% then 20% off is 44% total, not 50%, because the second discount applies to the already-reduced price.
How do I calculate percent off in my head?
Take 10% by moving the decimal one place, then multiply. 30% of $130 is 3 × $13 = $39.
What do I need to enter into the Discount Calculator?
Just 3 values: original price, discount, extra discount at checkout. Every field starts with a realistic example, so you can change one number at a time and watch the result update instantly.
How does the Discount Calculator work out the answer?
A discount subtracts a percentage of the original price: sale price = price × (1 − discount). It applies the formula Sale price = price × (1 − discount%) and shows the working so you can check each step by hand.
Is the Discount Calculator free, and do I need an account?
It is completely free with no sign-up, no download and no usage limit. Everything is calculated in your browser, so the numbers you type never leave your device.
